Function:

(1) Regulating effect on gastrointestinal function: experiments have proved that dill can promote the peristalsis of the living rabbit intestine, and can shrink the isolated intestinal tube. Anisole at 0.02mg/mL has the same contractile effect. (2) Anti-ulcer effect: with dill 600mg/kg duodenal or oral administration, the inhibition effect in gastric secretion test was 38.9%, the inhibition rate in Shay ulcer test was 34.9%, and the inhibition rate in stress ulcer test was 33.8%. (3) Effect on other digestive organs: fennel is beneficial to bile, and its effect is manifested in promoting bile secretion with the increase of bile solid components.
